Otters in the Water: Destruction of Animal Habitats is a problem. Here's a possible solution!
Otters in the Water
Otters in the water, camels on the sand
Birds in the air and rabbits on the land
Tigers got the jungle, monkeys got the trees
But people just live anywhere they please
If we drain all the swamps, what will the alligators do
Maybe hop around the grass like a kangaroo
If we use up all the rivers, tell me, what do you think
Could you keep a couple of catfish in your kitchen sink?
(Cho) Every animal alive needs a place to stay
Wild ones mostly keep out of our way
But if we don’t leave the creatures anywhere to roam
Can you just imagine what could happen at home
You’d have a hippo on your sofa, gorillas in your bed
A crocodile sleeping next to your brother Fred
Chimpanzees swinging from your living room lamp
And turtles in your basement where it’s dark and damp
You’d have wild geese grazing on your hallway rug
And a grizzly bear just waiting there to give you a hug
You’d be scratching your head from the fleas in your hair
And you just might find some chipmunks in your underwear
(CHO)
Out in the back yard things are getting pretty gross
A boa constrictor is dancing with you garden hose
A rhinoceros is rooting up your momma’s flower bead
And the vultures on the swing set are waiting to be fed
(You go first. No, you go first!)
