Earth Traveler:  A children's song about earth's orbit and your birthday.

Earth Traveler

On the day you were born it began

None of you walked; nobody ran

While you were crying and eating and sleeping

Slowly around the sun you were creeping

Grownups forget what babies don’t know

Around the sun we constantly go

Six hundred million miles every year

To travel the circle from there back to here

Cho:  Earth Traveler, orbit through space

Earth Traveler, you and the rest of the human race

          Earth Traveler.

What an idea – who would have thought

We could ride on a planet and never fall off

Earth spins on its axis from day into night

Revolving around this huge ball of light

Whenever your birthday comes round, think of this

With all of your toys, cake and ice cream and gifts

Wherever you live – it could be any place

You’ve finished one more complete orbit through space

     (Cho)

As the seasons keep on passing by in a ring

Summer and fall, then winter and spring

The journey continues from the day of your birth

And you never stop traveling around on this earth
