This show offers students a musical presentation of the history, culture and special qualities of North Carolina. In addition to traditional songs from each region of the state, we’ll present some original songs, such as “Climb the Wind,” the story of the Wright Brothers’ historic first powered flight, and “The Nags Head Pirates,” those buccaneers of legend who roamed the dunes of the Outer Banks in the early 1700’s. There are also songs from some famous NC musicians (e.g. Elizabeth Cotten and Doc Watson) and some other songs just for fun.
